Nonstandard uses for standard objects.

Seeing a hammer in a physical therapist's office was an initially worrying sight. Then it got explained to me that since hammers are very well-balanced objects, they're good for certain wrist exercises.

I didn't ask about the deck of cards, which I assume is primarily for manual dexterity work, though I assume it can do double duty to help time pass on a rare slow afternoon.

I used the hammer to help with twisting my wrist when I was in PT following breaking said wrist. I still use my hammer for the same purpose.
