Challenge #3: Guess Who's Coming to Dinner

In your own space, tell us who, from one of your fandoms, would you most want to have dinner with (or tea, or a random afternoon visit), And why? This could be a creator, an actor, a costumer, a set designer, a director, a character, a composer, anybody! What would you talk about? What are you dying to know? Arbitrarily excluding fictional characters and restricting myself to the living, having recently had a brief but intense conversation with James Marsters through my computer, I'd very much like a longer and still intense conversation with him face-to-face.

I'd like to catch up with people, too. People I left behind when I changed email addresses. People who moved social networks ahead of me and got lost, people I left behind when I made the shift. People who can't follow after me because I let the bridges behind me rot, though I didn't mean to at the time. People whose names I can't remember, but who invited me along, listened to me talk, let me be silly and sad and maybe a little sorrowful at times, too. People I don't know how to find anymore. People I've known for years and haven't hugged in months. People I've known for years and never hugged ever. People I like to imagine would be happy to catch up with me, too.

Sometimes I fantasize about how I might reach out, and it rarely gets farther than those fantasies. But they're pleasant to consider, just the same.

Oh my, that's wonderful! Yes there are so many people I've lost touch with that I would love to find again. And friends to hug, I haven't hugged a friend in soooooo long ☹️

Thank you. I can remember the last time I hugged someone, and I try not to think how many weeks it's been since last March.

And James is such a lovely person to talk to, isn't he? He makes anyone he's talking to feel you're the one thing he's interested in. Such a nice man. (And, yes, still hot. )

Sometimes I wonder if they'd remember me, and sometimes I wonder if they think about me, too. I suspect it's a universal thing that has a precise word in Japanese or Russian.

He is. Have you talked to him before? Can you tell me about it?

Yes, I've met him at some gigs he did in London, where photos came as part of the package - and a signature. Never very lengthy conversations, but always a delightful experience. My icon is me with him back in about 2011. I went on my birthday hence the wording.

He did a lovely day at the Actor's Church on that occasion; he read a version of A Christmas Carol to us, and there were some daft games too. He was very friendly and open.
