Socially distant gatherings.
My parents decided it's finally safe enough to host a picnic in the park, so tonight, for the first time since March, my family ate a meal together. It was delivered and all individually packed from a local restaurant, and there wasn't any hugging or close contact, but it was still sitting within fairly close proximity to each other, in the same physical space, all together. Following conversations was much easier.
I put on a dress in part because I wanted to dress up and in part because I thought the situation warranted it. And it did. There was cider and a sunset, and udon noodles that weren't the greatest but were plenty of fun to eat, and more time speaking to faces instead of screens or phones than I've had in months. Which might be why I'm feeling so tired right now. Just full-on ready to sleep.
