My favorite community is a direct descendant of the downloading communities on LJ; I won't link to it here, but if you ask me privately, I can point you in its direction.

Recently discovered is localweather, which is exactly what it says on the tin, and is a bit of a throwback to old-school blogging.

Long-used is thisfinecrew, which I hope someday soon will shutter its doors. Until then, it helps organize and manage and figure out what needs doing, and how it should be done.
