Begin to breathe.
As has become tradition, I'm starting the year with the Snowflake challenges.
Challenge #1
In your own space, introduce yourself! Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I'm Hannah, and I use this space to record my days, share my thoughts and projects, and make new friends. I was raised in California and live in New York City, which means I'm pretty easygoing as long as I stay in motion. I write fic to unwind and pursue original stories to wind myself back up, do most of my own cooking, and I'm working to make sure I've got my feet underneath me.
When I'm asked to talk about myself in job interviews, I say I have a background in library science, information management, and creative writing. When I need to write a short bio for new social media networks, I like to say I'm from the Hinterlands and that I'm happy to be here.
I've been in online fandom in one form or another since about 1996, under a variety of names and with varying degrees of fixation, all of which have settled down fairly well by now. My first thought at having the internet installed at home was something close to, "Wow! Now I can talk to people with similar interests outside of my own ZIP code!" To a great extent, that's still how I think of it.
