Reason to believe.
I feel it worth mentioning I'm ending the year in one of my favorite shirts. It's got an owl carrying a boom box on it. I feel I can presume the owl has good taste in music, if it's going to the effort of carrying around the boom box. But I'm not here to talk about owls.
Earlier today, I saw a man wearing sunglasses, big yellow headphones and a big long dark raincoat, with dark shoulder-length hair and a determined look on his face, ride past me on one of those single motorized wheels. He looked like an extra from Snow Crash.
Rarely have I had such a moment of seeing the future in the present, but there it was today. Something out of, and yet beyond, everything I've been told up until now. Such is the future: you don't know what it'll look like until you see it, at which point it's just the everyday.
As one of my other favorite t-shirts says: the future just happened.
And there it goes again.
