Coming soon: pumpkin spice pumpkin.
After several days of no caffeine, I had half a cup of coffee this afternoon. I'm still feeling it, a little bit. And boy, does it feel good. It's going to be nice to get back to it as a piece of regular consumption.
It was from a small independent business - not a coffee shop as such, but a place that sells coffee beans and whole-leaf tea which brews up a few blends and flavors each day to let customers buy cups to see what they like. Today it was pumpkin spice which got me. That is, not coffee with a pumpkin spice syrup - coffee with the pumpkin spices already added to it. With the right additional ingredients, such as pumpkin spice syrup, a pumpkin spice blend, and pumpkin spice milk, it might create a concoction of such pumpkin spice density that it would create a black hole of pumpkin spice, drawing all such products into an event horizon from which they couldn't escape. After which we would be free to enjoy pumpkin as a vegetable again.
Or I could just buy a half-pound of it and enjoy cold-brew pumpkin spice in summertime, because it made for a very smooth, pleasantly flavored cup.
