Apartment update.

With yet another set of bookcases, my apartment's now reached capacity. I still have piles of books on the floor - three qualifies for the plural - but they're manageable, and I'll be able to deal with them easily enough.

What's strange about all this is that between the bookcases, and a little reorganization I did, I've got so much more open floor now. I've walked back and forth over and around it a few times, just to occupy that area. There was something comforting about having a lot of stuff around, all these objects and things, and it's also nice to have unoccupied space.

Honestly, less than three piles of books and it just feels like not enough books...

You always need enough to qualify for the plural.

I love having unoccupied space. I tend to have a minimal amount of furniture, which leaves lots of space open, but then people think I'm weird for not filling the space.

Just tell them that in a small, densely populated area, there's nothing more luxurious than having space you don't use.

I'm always happiest when I'm well enough to maintain open floorspace in my bedroom. It just feels so good.

Also only three piles of books is very good! I've been selling off some of my collection to the secondhand bookstore (so I can buy more books with the store credit, naturally), and I now have only two bookshelves that are double-stacked to a degree. Progress!

My books aren't yet double-stacked on the shelves. Yet. Well, except for the small Terry Pratchett section. But they're all of such uniform shape and size!
