The local farmer's market network has an annual Winter Warrior challenge as a way to entice people to visit during the barren, cold months: every market visit gets another punch on the card, and every completed card gets a prize and a chance to win a raffle. In past years I've won aprons, potatoes, reusable mesh produce bags, and restaurant gift certificates.

Today I won a lunchbox.

It's enough to make me want to go job hunting, because then I'll have reason to use it.

Write to them and suggest it. Maybe they'll listen, and if they don't, it was still worth a try.

The ones near you might be open to donating 3-pound bags of potatoes or onions to keep people coming in the cold months. It's worth asking about.

I was just thinking of you and farmer's market adventures this morning! In that I really love those posts. In part, because they resonate - I love my farm share and the Queen City's farmer's market - but also because they are these moments well-savoured. IDK, I'm not sure I'm doing a good job explaining. But I wanted to thank you for continuing to share that part of your life. It means a lot to me. <3
