Genuinely curious.

I've little desire to see Infinity War except to keep participating in the conversation. Even then, I don't really want to see it unless I'm doing so with someone from fandom. To that end, I'm asking the people I know in fandom - which is to say, primarily my DW reading circle - if any of them are in the New York area and want to see the next Avengers movie.

No where near NY. Otherwise I'd be in.

Sorry, wrong side of the country ;)

I get wanting to watch something mostly to keep a toe in the conversations.

Same reason as I'll be watching it, but I'm not driving 150km to the cinema for it!

Not in the area, alas.

I still haven't seen Civil War or Age of Ultron (or a few of the others, but I've lost track of which ones) so I feel like going into Infinity Wars is like walking into a final exam without studying first. I kind of resent these franchises where you have to watch everything to understand anything.

I wouldn't even bother watching, but Thor: Ragnarok sucked me back into the universe. Taika Waititi is 100% to blame for me writing the Hulk chocolate chip cookie story, which I'm still desperately trying to finish before the movie comes out. (Also, I'm torturing myself by setting my plot smack in the middle of the Infinity Wars timeline and then handwaving the entire plot by having "a bunch of stuff" happen that distracts Bruce from the focus of my story before sorting out the ending. Based on the trailers, I'm already well into AU territory, but I have a feeling I'm still going to sit in the theater going, "No! Dammit! You're ruining my fanfic! Stop it!")

...you wanna drive to Boston? I'll totally see it with you. ;) My roommate and I are buying tickets super early, too.
