Saturday night drabble.
Day 12
In your own space, create a fanwork. Make a podfic, an icon, a sketch, a meta, or a rec list. Arts and crafts. Cross stitch. Draft an essay about a particular medium. Put together a picspam or a fanmix. Write a review of book you love, a ship manifesto, a you-should-be-listening-to-this-band essay. Create something. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
Golden State, 100 words, MCU. Thanks to fandom-chat for helping with the commas.
Fresh fruit all year, that was a plus. A backyard garden, also nice – oranges, once an almost unspeakable luxury, now free for the taking whenever he wanted one. No subway to speak of and hardly any buses, but it was more walkable than it seemed at first. And a place without quite so many memories, well. But that part he wasn’t sharing. Not yet, at least, not when oranges were enough.
“What, are you planning on opening a west coast branch?” Tony asked him when Steve said where he was moving.
He’d had to laugh: “I’m just following the Dodgers.”

Also have to love the idea of Tony being like, "you know I have a mansion in Malibu. Wait. Pepper, did that fall into the ocean? where are we at with that mansion??"
Absolutely, the oranges just grow on trees!!!! how amazing is that!!! my dad, who was born in 1930, still celebrated at Christmas time with oranges for all.
I love the voice you establish for Steve. Perfect! His little rationalizations and trying to see the upside.

This is really charming. I don't think I've seen a story that has Steve anything other than bitter about the Dodgers moving.
