Head to my toes.
My legs are starting to tell me I walked for almost four hours solid today. Tomorrow's going to be quite something. I spent a little bit of that time buying a pair of cheap workout shoes, and most of that time in Central Park with
d_generate_girl. We started when it was still gray and drizzling, and ended when the sun was out and shining.
In between, we saw a juvenile red-tailed hawk, a pine warbler, buffleheads, turtles, lots of magnolias and cherry blossoms, two different jazz musicians and a pair of little girls with one on violin and the other practicing ballet. I fell on my ass, and she had much better luck in not hitting the ground. We were surprised by a gospel group by the fountain of Bethesda which, it turns out, also does Katy Perry covers. Discussion covered frustrations with work and the federal government, fandom projects, summer plans, memorable commutes, savory baked goods, the variabilities of rent across Manhattan neighborhoods, and the importance of brown alcohols and informing people of new developments ahead of time. We bought tasty coffee and peered at the Frank Lloyd Wright room in the Met which we hadn't lost, but had put in the wrong place, thus literally mis-placing it, and we had to sit down a couple of times because our feet were so upset with us.
And all in all, we had a pretty frabjuous time, and all we paid for was the coffee.
