Just call me Mrs. Landingham.
I got hired today.
It's a second part-time position in addition to my current one, a personal assistant job for ten to fifteen hours a week, to start. So, all in all, it's just a bit over half-time work. Which means finding a full-time permanent gig is still ongoing, but now I have a little more flexibility and breathing room and ability to focus with this second posting.
The interview lasted an hour. And it was, by far, the fastest turnaround for any job I've ever interviewed for because I only just found out about this gig last Monday. I got to talking with someone at the gym, and one thing led to another - she said how unrealistic it was with all the social expectations placed on women today, and then commented, "I know we're supposed to be in a post-feminist society," to which I replied, "I don't think we're going to be a post-feminist society until we hit Star Trek," and she really laughed at that - until she asked me for my contact info. I e-mailed her later, and then she said I could come and see her today. So I did. And now, I have another gig.
Yeeha.
