Load off my mind.
Last night I e-mailed my volunteer gig supervisors to tell them I'd be away on jury duty for the next three weeks.
And today I'm e-mailing them to tell them I'll be coming in tomorrow.
It turned out I had a win-win situation for jury duty. If I put myself down as willing to serve, either I'd get picked, sit on a grand jury for a given amount of time, and wouldn't be called to serve again for another eight years, or I wouldn't get picked, get to leave, and wouldn't get called for another six years.
So I put myself down as willing to serve. Then they randomly selected about fifty other people and I was free to go by eleven o'clock. As much as I'd have liked the money, I'm going to enjoy the Garden more.
