Out of my head.
Next Friday will be my last day at the gallery. It's nice to have an end date I can see coming with enough lead time to prepare everything, and it's not quite as nice to know what's in store. Right now, it's nothing. My other internships are over and done with, both of which with very little fanfare - Ellis Island ended last year, and the Performing Arts Library was on a semester system so I just got an e-mail alert last Monday telling me my Wednesdays were suddenly free - and sometimes it's better to be able to shrug and direct attention somewhere else without any sort of ceremony.
There's going to be something at the gallery. I'm not quite sure what, except that my supervisor asked me what my favorite flavor was, for an unidentified treat. And I'm baking a cake to bring in, just because.
I'm now more open to part-time jobs, and willing to be much more selective about full-time ones as well. It's kind of freeing, in its own way, to be able to say "no" to something. It'd be nicer to say "yes," but I can't do that until I ask.
What I'd love to do is take some time at the end of February to do absolutely nothing related to finding a job and travel a little bit. Even staying within the US and just going to Boston would be something. San Francisco would have me fall to my knees and weep, but it does that anyway. My parents are going on a trip of their own soon - maybe that'll make them more amenable to the idea of me having one.
