Linger on.
Reason thirty-seven this building is a dorm: at the end of a semester when people move out, the laundry rooms get stocked with cast-off items they're not taking with them. I've got a new colorful hand towel and a couple of pillowcases, plus some throat lozenges. So that's a plus for today. It balances out the time I spent sorting out the recyclable materials and muttering about the culture of disposability that's being cultivated these days - that I was on a women's floor just gave me more to work with.
As it is, it's not quite moving out but it is me leaving for an extended period of time, so I feel like I should mention earlier than the night before that I'm heading out on a family vacation from the twenty-second to the twenty-ninth. No, I won't be bringing my laptop. Yes, I'll survive. Yes, I'm really happy about going. Hiding from Christmas is always a challenge, moreso in this day and age, and any chance to leave it behind for a while is something I need to pounce on.
This vacation does mean I'll have to wait for the Doctor Who Christmas special until I get back. But that's a trade-off I'm willing to take.
