Turning into something.
The internship starts this January and runs through March. Since I'm going in for specialized work, it's just one day a week to start with the potential for more time spent on-site if they need me there. So I'll keep looking for work in the area and see what comes of that. I wanted a job by December, and I don't quite have one yet. I could get lucky beyond nearly all reason and accept an offer made to me within the next three weeks - something I hope for pretty much every time I check my e-mail in the morning - but I did get something this month, and it's something that has me going in for what I was trained to do. So it's a beginning.
I've also gotten notices of general interest, which means I've gotten past the slush pile phase of applications to be considered highly enough for a personal rejection. So I'm taking this as a sign that I'm learning how to market myself in cover letters, and as I've been watching a lot of The Good Wife, making a note to stockpile episodes since the courtroom scenes help get me in the right frame of mind for that specific brand of rhetoric.
Also, I call dibs on Kalinda.
Unrelated to the rest, a small fandom rec, since small fandoms travel best by word-of-mouth: High And Dry, Kings, Jack character examination. Done to perhaps the one Radiohead song I like, which makes it that much more impressive.
