I'm home in California and posting from my room! Given the past month, these are both pretty spectacular.
It took twelve-and-a-half hours to get from Pittsburgh and leaving the house to catch an airport shuttle to leaving the airport to be picked up by my brother and getting to Davis. It's much easier for me to deal with that much travel if I know there's a ride waiting for me at the other side - I ought to charter another shuttle for when I get back.
Also, I realized that I was traveling in a metal tube hurling through the air at hundreds of miles an hour and listening to Led Zeppelin over mountains that countless individuals lost their lives to in attempting to cross, so as things go I was doing all right.
The computer is an old laptop of my father's - it's about the same size, capacity and age as my old one. This means not only will I get personal Internet access for a little while, I'll get to do some schoolwork. And oddly enough, that prospect's gotten me pretty darn cheerful.
