I don't think I mention it earlier: I went out of town to DC this weekend to see my older brother at his new school. And that went well, since I got to learn firsthand that he's enjoying himself and his classes and liked the print I got for him from the Museum of Anthropology. It was the first chance my family's had in several months to be all together, and we got to fall into a rhythm like old times.

My brother was the major focus of the trip,but I took an afternoon off to see some local friends I don't spend much face-time with. It was ayalesca, deelaundry, and recrudescence, in alphabetical order. In spite of the bad start - I got to Kramerbooks a half-hour before the time we were supposed to meet, and waited another forty-five minutes after that in radio silence because the Metro was being an ass, where I almost got to tears in sheer panic - lunch was delicious, everyone seemed pleased with the books I'd gotten them, and we all got to walk around the area and enjoy several kinds of ice cream flavors and interesting shops with fake sunflowers.

ayalesca had to leave early, so the three of us walked around the Mall for a while chatting about fandom trends and events, which didn't last long enough since we all needed to split up before six o'clock. But it was fun while it lasted. Who knows? I might be able to do it again in a month or two.
