Friday night.

I wish I could say I'm typing this from my computer, but that's still not the case. It works fine, it runs all the programs I need - except now it can't access wireless networks.

At this point I'm pretty well resigned to having no personal Internet, and will keep cobbling things together as best I can. I'll be seeing the IT department again when my new computer comes, but I'll see if they can do as little as possible to get me where I'll have my feet under me again in regards to computers.

What's really getting to me is the lack of Internet sociality. Not even the ability to answer e-mails swiftly, but more the ability to communicate with people I know in something approaching actual conversation. At least as far as text goes.

In the meantime, I'm using my landlady's computer to turn in an assignment on time, and I'll wait to submit my items for purimgifts for another day so I don't have to deal with more of her daughter's televison habits.
