Family update.
I just found out my older brother's wife is coming to the family's Friday night dinner tonight.
I'm sitting here stunned and reeling because this is going to be her first time at one of these things since December. It's not like Brooklyn is impossibly far away and it's not like she's dropped out of contact with the rest of my family entirely. Just not coming to these dinners or any other family gathering or outing held in Manhattan.
I'm thinking of engaging with her like absolutely no time's passed at all, and any advice would be welcome.
