2. My Strongest Suit, MASH - a joyous tribute to one Maxwell Q. Klinger.
3. half-savage and hardy and free, MASH - an absolutely wonderful post-canon fic that's both barely connected to the show and in direct conversation with it, in the ways only fanfic can do. Choice line: And so, Henrietta Edna O’Reilly goes through her life as a grave in the shape of a girl.
4. Playing with the Boys, Top Gun - scathingly hot character-driven porn that explores lived-in bodies and glorifies in their fluids and their capabilities, much like Jane Ward writes about. Very much a specific type of fantasy, and very welcome. Choice lines: Maverick slid his free hand down the back of Ice's underwear to squeeze his ass. He was hot and damp with sweat all over, but it felt especially filthy to slide his fingers down the dip of Iceman's back, smearing half-formed droplets of sweat down his spine until they slipped down his crack.
5. Separation, Top Gun - another very specific and very different type of fantasy, a "weird and challenging experiment" in the author's own words, and just as welcome. Choice line: There’s a famous play about an Iceman - about how people need delusions to survive - but the end of that joke’s too depressing for Ice to think about it long.
