Hemoglobin high.
I donated blood today! A week of eating chicken hearts and iron-fortified cereal paid off, getting me well into the safe range at 12.8%. The only stressful parts were waiting for that specific test result, which was over in a few seconds, and waiting to get the needle into my arm, which took nearly 30 minutes. Not from jabbing or anything like that - it took that long because people kept having to go around and check equipment and write labels, and that was the part that got to me. Having to wait in the chair so long. I legit started crying a bit out of the stress. I'd have been much happier if I'd been told to wait somewhere else until everything was ready, and I have no idea why that wasn't the case.
I'll know for next time: ask if everything's ready, and don't head over to the collection station until it is.
Still. I did what I went there to do, and I feel much better for having done it. By the time I can donate again, there should be another drive in walking distance.
