Back from the other coast.
The first thing I did when I got back to my place was take a COVID test. Still negative. I'll take another on Friday to be certain, and I'm feeling okay about it.
Second was make some stovetop ramen noodles with limp scallions and bok choy that nevertheless managed to create the all-healing meal of broth with noodles and vegetables served in a big bowl.
Notable items from San Diego and Los Angeles: the full moon from my hotel room window. Glimpsing Disneyland fireworks from my AirBNB window. Sunsets. Sunrises. Swimming pools. Parrots. Ravens. A man skateboarding down a steep incline using his gloved hands as literal handbreaks. A barefoot surfer saying "dude" without any irony or self-consciousness. Oak trees. Loquats. More loquats. Even more loquats. Secret stairs. The San Diego Zoo. Lizards enjoying themselves. Koi big enough to earn the nickname "Moby Carp." A sand crab and a regular crab. The San Diego metro. The LA subway. Sleeping in a dome. Water slides. A groom's tie-dyed linen suit. Making people laugh. Watching a lot of MASH as parallel play. Balboa Park's sky tram ride. The cold water of the Pacific Ocean. Multiple hikes on dusty trails. Incurring very strangely-manifesting water damage to my phone the night before I came back home thanks to a leaking water bottle that might or might not be salvageable, though I live in hope.
And finally going to sleep in my own bed.
