Stranger still.
At a work-related Zoom meeting today, the host had some issues with getting good internet connection in her home office, and wanting to get the thing going instead of us sitting around while she moved around her house, I jumped in and started hosting - saying that while she found a new spot, we could do the weekly check-in activity, I'll start, the next person can go.
I got some praise for it, which was nice, and I nearly explained how because I'd spent the weekend at a fandom convention I was still in good practice for things going weird on calls. Then I thought better of it and just thanked her for the praise.
The other minor highlight was talking about end goals and intentions. The work for my job right now is tracking public spending plans released by assorted school districts through the United States to see where money's going and how it's getting there, and using that in combination with other research to inform future public policy decisions, and I talked about how tracking these things shouldn't be done only by how the information's shared, but by how we as the tracking team are measuring and assessing it. Thinking about the next people who are going to come along and look at the data we've collected and turned into useful information. Which is a lot of what I learned how to do when I got my library science degree, way back when.
