Observations.

It says something that one of my thoughts about having a little time between jobs is, "Finally, I can tackle those emails."

I did get a couple tough emails sent out, one of which does deal with the finalization of the present job. Still no specific date. Just vibes. At this point, I can handle vibes. There's a lot more to tackle in the inbox than just those couple - it'd be nice to begin with fewer items in there, though.

The friend who I was going to see today cancelled this morning, out of an abundance of due caution. As I was still in my pajamas at the time, it genuinely didn't bother me, and was in fact a mild relief: I got laundry done in the afternoon instead of the evening, and managed a few hundred words of fic, also.

Congrats on writing and doing laundry. Laundry is one of those tasks with several others disguised within. Sneaky laundry.

Although they were personal emails, I know this story. Spent the morning with work stuff, spent this evening trying to respond to all the personal emails.
