Human voices.
I heard a party going on today. Somewhere near my apartment, probably a rooftop or a fifth-floor patio, the unmistakable sound of human voices all together. Some of it sounded angry, some sad, some cheerful, some just loud. And still, while it bugged me a bit when it kept going, I couldn't bring myself to be that upset because it's the first party I've heard in months.
Some of it's that it's safer now than it's been, and some of it's definitely the weather finally turning to spring.
There was a cold snap Thursday night, with a bit of ice hanging around on Friday morning in the pigeon tray. The little lean-to structure in the park the kids keep building lost some leaves and sticks in the wind, but the framework stayed up fine, and I expect it'll get rebuilt soon enough.
