Citrus maxima.
The first pomelo of the season! A triumph on its return and a disappointment on it not living up to my high citrus standards. I'll try again soon, with more care in the selection process and more progression into the season itself.
Most of the joy is in eating it messily, over the sink. Ripping it apart and just gorging myself on the big, lovely sections, letting them pop between my teeth and the juice and flesh to burst between my teeth and all over my tongue and down my throat. Such fun. Such hope the next one will be even better.
