Looking ahead.

In an attempt to keep myself from attending large groups of people in close proximity to one another, I'm trying to shift away from going to the gym for a while. I have two five-pound dumbbells, one thirty-pound dumbbell, and four fifteen-pound plates in my apartment; I can use those to get a pretty decent strength training workout. I don't have any cardio equipment, though, so I followed my dad's suggestion and went stair climbing.

I wanted to try three ascents of a 12 story building, and managed two of them. My left knee was making noises at me, even after a rest after the second ascent. And when my knee makes noises, I move to something easier on it. About twenty minutes of walking around streets and through nearby parks isn't much, but it got me moving out in fresh air at a reasonable distance from people, which was nice.

The one thing I can't get anywhere but the gym is the steam room. A while back, a gas line exploded and I couldn't access it for a couple months. Same symptom, different cause.

I thought about going to market tomorrow, in case it's closed. Then I figured, better not to risk it at all. If I have to buy groceries at the grocery store, that's about the same as riding the subway to an open-air market. I can wait a few days and see where I'll get next week's milk then.

But first, an early bedtime, because a hundred petty disappointment on top of a thousand genuine worries have really worn me out.
