Happy solstice, all.
The market is getting smaller, with a whole bunch of stands having today as their last day until April. Even though the days are getting longer, the cold is beginning to fully set in. Winter is something to be endured, even now, and it's also something to be enjoyed and appreciated as best it can for as long as it can.
Yesterday I had a doctor's appointment which I knew would necessitate taking off my jeans, so I wore my Converse high-tops - my summer shoes - because I knew they'd be easier to take off than Doc Martens. I hadn't realized until then just how effectively insulating hard leather is on my toes. The thick socks don't hurt matters, either. The tactile sensitivity is a fair trade-off for warm feet.
