I would, quite honestly, read a hundred thousand words of Willow and Xander as delightful young queers that fall into fighting the forces of darkness alongside Buffy and exploring how that Kinsey scale-up, for lack of a better term, unspooled during the show's run. Using a different kind of subtext, perhaps less oblique, but still subtext.
